The MecoFence Y‑post.
The MecoFence square aluminium post is built for long fence runs: 80 × 80 mm section, thick extruded wall, heavy powder coat. The patented Y-groove holds each board on two angled edges, gives it room to move and lets water drain. Available in black or silver.
Why it lasts
Three numbers decide post life.
An aluminium fence post has to do three things well: carry the load, hold its shape and keep its finish. The MecoFence Y post is sized, extruded and coated around all three.
80 × 80 mm section
The full 80 mm section carries more load and keeps the fence line straight, even at 1.8 m height in exposed positions.
1.7 mm wall
1.7 mm of aluminium resists denting in transport and on site, and holds the Y-groove shape under board pressure for the life of the fence.
60 μm+ powder coating
60 microns of powder coat keeps the colour stable and the aluminium protected from corrosion, so the post finish lasts as long as the boards.

Flat grooves grip the board on its full face. The MecoFence Y-groove holds it on two angled edges instead, which changes how the board behaves in the post.
Prevents pinching
Less contact area, so the board can expand and contract with temperature without locking in the groove.
Hydrophobic design
The open Y-channel lets rainwater drain out instead of sitting against the board edge.
Angle adjustment
The board can turn a few degrees in the groove to follow a slope or an uneven fence line.
Patented design
Every angle in the Y-groove was worked out to solve a real problem on the fence line. That level of detail is why the design carries a MecoFence utility model patent.

Post assembly
Fittings, base & cap.
The post base is cast aluminium, not the moulded plastic socket supplied with many composite fences. Cap, rails and brackets are aluminium or stainless steel, so every fixing point matches the life of the post.

Concrete embedment
The post is set directly into a concrete footing cast in the ground. Highest stability for open ground, slopes and exposed sites.

Deck anchoring
The cast aluminium base bolts directly through composite or timber decking. No concrete work needed for raised decks and pool surrounds.
